Tidewind Messiah Sing
Messiah Sings are popular events all over, and many places host them annually.  A “Messiah Sing” is a performance of a portion of Handel’s Messiah, most often around Christmas time, where the audience participates as the choir.  Audience members are encouraged to bring music and sing along with the choral pieces, while more experienced vocalists sing the arias, recitatives, etc.  One of our team members will briefly share about the significance of the Messiah today.

How long is the event?

Our event will last about 90 minutes.

What if I don’t know the music?

You are welcome to come listen even if you don’t sing along. However, if you would like to learn the music ahead of time we have several resources available on our website to help (see “Resources” tab above). Also, we will have a few rehearsals before the event to help those who would like to know the music better. Rehearsal dates are:

Sunday, August 18, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Sunday, September 8, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Sunday, October 13, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

These rehearsals will all take place at Indy Vineyard Church, 8383 Craig Street, Indianapolis. Come in the door near the Tidewind lawn sign.

There will also be a rehearsal on Sunday, November 10 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm for us to run through the whole program. Location for that rehearsal is at Lawrence United Methodist Church, 5200 Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46226

What should I bring to the event?

Bring a copy of the music with you. You can get a copy of the score here.

What if I don’t have music?

We will have a limited number of copies of the score available for loan on a first-come, first-served basis. You are welcome to borrow one as long as we have copies available.
